Registry
So apparently I hate shopping so much and am so frugal that I am having trouble registering.
Fine china or not $130 for a five piece place setting?!
and I may want the 300 thread count sheets but $80 for a set.
Maybe if folks could just give me the money I could get twice the stuff and have four times the fun.

I went through the same thoughts when we were registering, and here's what I came up with.
Yes, you could use the money for much more, but the things would not be as nice. Theoretically these things are going to be with you for the rest of your married life (china, bedding, etc.), so you want to make sure it's nice stuff.
Your wedding is one time you can spoil yourself, so don't feel bad about it. But ultimately, you do what you feel comfortable with.
